At about 6:30 am I was awoken by Jeremy White of WGR telling me Ted Rogers has passed away. This is especially notable given the fact the Rogers recently paid $78 million for the Bills to play several games in Toronto over the next few seasons. What makes this more stirring is the first regular season contest is scheduled for this Sunday between the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills.
This is of special interest to Bills fans because it has long been rumored that Rogers is the possible front runner in the sweepstakes to purchase the Bills after Buffalo’s owner, Ralph Wilson, passes away.
What this means now? I don’t know. Does this remove Toronto as a possibility for the Bills relocation? Does this increase the chances of the Bills moving to Los Angeles when Wilson passes? Could this be a wake up call to Ralph Wilson that could motivate him to sell him team to a Buffalo based business group while he is still alive?
The questions are numerous, and the truth is, no one knows what this means to the future of the Bills at this point. The only thing that we know as of now, is it will affect Bills fans, somehow.
